    Project Euler–Elegance of Mathematics in Computer Science 

    Project Euler is a great way to introduce people to the world of programming, especially those who are more formally trained in mathematics rather than computer science. It has value for computer scientists, as well, as it presents the idea of efficiency and elegance in solutions—not just getting the right answer. The project presents a series of problems which are solvable by a program following the “one-minute rule.” That is, the solution to each problem should be computed by the program in under one minute.     PuTTY Tray is to PuTTY what Vim is to Vi 

    PuTTY Tray LogoOkay, I know this seems oddly unimportant, but I had to share my joys. PuTTY Tray is an improved version of PuTTY, the popular SSH client for Windows, which includes some new tray icon functionality and transparency! Who ever said transparency was only for Linux? Plus, they have a really cool click-and-drag web interface…(sigh). Now I can tunnel in to the Unix servers with style. If you’re currently using PuTTY, you’ll want to check this out.
